Summary
A court case is happening right now about which congressional map Missouri will use for the November election. Right now, we must use the 2022 congressional map when you vote for your U.S. Representative. The court case could change which map we use. If the map changes, you might be in a different congressional district. That means you could vote for a different U.S. Representative. September 28, 2026, is a key date in the court case, but we do not know what will happen or when.
If You Vote In Person Early (Absentee)
Once you turn in your ballot, your vote is final. If the map changes after you vote, you may not change your vote or vote again.
If You Vote by Mail or are a Military or Overseas Voter
Your ballot counts when we receive it, not when you mail it. If the map changes after you vote, you may not change your vote or vote again. If the map changes before we get your ballot, we may send you more instructions.
What happens if the map changes and you’re in the wrong congressional district?
If your ballot is cast or final, and it turns out you voted in the wrong congressional district, only your vote for U.S. Representative may not count. Every other choice you made on your ballot will still count. If a different congressional map is required, we will follow all court orders.
