Voting
Who can Register to Vote?
You can register to vote if you:
- Are 17 1/2 years old or older, and will be at least 18 years of age on or before the date of the next election.
- Are a resident of Kansas City, within Jackson County, and a United States citizen.
- Are not judicially declared incompacitated.
- Are pardoned, discharged or released from any felony conviction.
- Have never been convicted of any crime related to voting.
When can I Register to Vote?
Anytime! Click here to register to vote.
You may also register to vote at any time during the business hours listed at the locations below. However, you must register by the fourth Wednesday preceding an election to be eligible to vote in that election. For the November 5, 2024 General Election, you must have been registered to vote by October 9, 2024.

How do I get a copy of my Voter ID Card?
If you need a copy of your voter ID card there are several ways to request one:

Call ahead (816-842-4820) to have your voter ID card printed and ready to be picked up during normal office hours of 8 AM - 5 PM at our main office (4407 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. KCMO 64130). Or, if you are unable to come in to pick your card up at the office, we can mail your Voter ID Card to you.

Visit us at our main office (4407 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. KCMO 64130) any time Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM and we can print a copy of your Voter ID Card for you while you are at the office.
Please Note: A Voter ID Card is currently NOT an acceptable form of ID for voting.
How do I update my party affiliation?
While choosing a party affiliation is currently optional in Missouri, voters who would like to select a party affiliation to be recorded on their voter record may do so by completing this form and returning it to their local election authority.
